- A building services contractor client lost over 12% in 2003. Year-end 2004 income statement showed a 10.5% NPM; 2005 NPM 21%; 2006 NPM 23%. 2007 NPM 23%; 2008 NPM 23%. That is an extraordinary turnaround. We got them working on the right things.
- Began working with a start-up reverse mortgage company. Within two months, we had developed a complete business plan and market entry plan. The company was profitable within 6 months of launch.
- A regional manufacturer/distributor had flat sales growth for 2 years. Through a new strategic alliance with another manufacturer, sales grew nearly 11% in the first year. Additionally, depth was added to the management team allowing the owner to become much more strategic, working on innovative new offerings and creating more value in his company.
- Successfully marketed and brought over a dozen buyers to the negotiating table for a National Restaurant Franchise in 2006, culminating in a deal that exceeded industry averages in terms of the sale price (nearly 15% better), and met the owner’s objectives for maintaining the employees in the transition.
- A manufacturer of equipment for the pharmaceutical industry was losing money. We put together a shop floor management system to better track hours and improved the estimating process. This work enhanced the original valuation by nearly $2.5M. Sale pending.
- Developed an exit plan for a business owner whose company relied on a key employee for its success, and hence its value. When we completed the project, we created a compensation plan for the key employee that motivated him and created significant loyalty to the company. This key employee was significant factor in the successful sale of the company.
