Tom Garrity

As Managing Partner of Compass Point Consulting, LLC, I’m a growth strategy and ownership transition expert with extensive experience in family businesses. Working directly with the owner(s) and their executive team, I help guide them on their quest to build a successful company and maintain a strong family unit.

My background is all about working in family businesses and includes growing up in several of them myself. I built several distribution operations and switched to sales with a large, middle-market family business in the building products industry. I am a former president of two early-stage, family business manufacturing companies in the fabric-building and factory automation industries. This extensive business development experience, broad leadership positions, and a practical financial analysis background would become the seed for helping other owners and executives.

That seed grew into Compass Point in 2003. My love for family businesses comes from my belief that strong families can build phenomenal companies for generations to come. As a certified Gravitas Impact™ and Value Builder™ Business Coach, I spend 100 hours annually in professional development. I never stop learning and I take all that insight back to my clients.
