Building a transferrable business takes time. It is not a singular event. One of the tried and true adages is “The only reason to get into business is to get out.” When there is no plan or timeline, the business value suffers and most transition options come off the table. Business value is a critical component of your eventual exit – and the impact on your family.
Several things factor into increasing your business value and developing a successful transition plan. There are the hard factors such as financials, EBITDA, and operational assets; and then there are the softer factors like people, succession timeline, and intellectual property. Whether you are thinking of selling the business or not, this workshop will provide a roadmap to identifying your unique gaps and the next steps to address them.
Investing just 60 minutes can significantly shift your level of understanding of how to increase your business’ value now so you can reap the rewards when it’s time to transition to post-business life. We will touch on topics such as:
Owners of Family Businesses and Privately-Held Companies with revenue between $5M and $100M+ who have a 10-year (or less) runway to exit the business and have not fully developed a transition plan or completed a business value assessment.
